MasTec Appoints Ernst & Young LLP As Independent Auditor

MIAMI, April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) today announced that it has appointed Ernst & Young LLP as the Company's independent auditor for the year ending December 31, 2002. The appointment follows the adoption of an Audit Committee policy to periodically review the selection of the Company's auditors. The decision to change auditors was in the normal course of business and not the result of any disagreement between MasTec and its prior auditing firm on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or audit scope or procedure.

Ernst & Young replaces PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. MasTec has filed a report on Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission further detailing the change in auditors.
