John Van Heuvelen Joins MasTec Board

MIAMI, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ) today announced that John Van Heuvelen, former President and Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Trust Company and Executive Vice President of Morgan Stanley Advisors Asset Management Division, has joined MasTec's Board of Directors.
Mr. Van Heuvelen spent 13 years with Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter Reynolds in various executive positions in the mutual fund, unit investment trust and municipal bond divisions before serving as president of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Trust Company from 1993 until 1999. Since 1999, Mr. Van Heuvelen has been a private equity investor based in Denver, Colorado. His investment activities have included private telecom and technology firms, where he still remains active.
Mr. Van Heuvelen brings to MasTec strengths in finance, accounting, fiduciary matters, state and federal regulatory affairs and corporate governance. He also has extensive experience in the technology and telecommunications industries.
